current mood: sore
current song: AFI - Love Like Winter
Went to the AFI concert last night in SF at the Graham Civic Center. The opening bands were Saosin and Tiger Army.
I adore Davey Havoc. I adore his pink, glow-in-the-dark eyeshadow. xD hahaha <3 I really do love their concerts, because they put on a good show. I love theatrics, energy, and most of all, how well they can sing on stage. I saw them in June at BFD and they were awesome considering how far away they were. But still, I love all the lights and stage effects.
For this concert, since it was a smaller one with them as the sole headliners, they really decorated their set to coincide with their new album, December Underground. They set up white, winter trees like they have their CD cover and had the ones in the front covered in pretty orange lights. The four of them were dressed in coordinating white clothes to fit the surroundings.
I love how they started out. They began with Prelude 12/21. First, the lights go out and the curtain lights up with a slight hue of color and the outline of Davey's body. When the song hit the :38 second point, the curtain dropped with those "Wam!" climatic lights. xD Mmm. Davey's bodily outline in the back-screen was le sex. Nnngh. <3333
Sorry Lalala. xD(\ ke ke ke
Also, during Love Like Winter they released snow-like confetti on us all. Sean grabbed a piece for my mom's scrapbook. lol.
Compared to other concerts I've been to, this is probably up there in the second slot. (Cause nothing can beat Taste of Chaos for me with Bert and Gerard doing Under Pressure.) The reason because Lilli and I somehow managed to get up in the third row from the front admist the mosh. We could see the color of Davey's eyes! *_* And the brightness of his eyeshadow. I could touch the security guard that pulls crowd surfers down. *___*;;; (I so almost took the chance to be tossed over the gate after the third crowd surfer ass hit me in the head)
But holy shit my earrings nearly got ripped out and my neck bent in half from the first out of three surfers who landed on top of me. Goddamn. I'm so effin sore today and have random, oddly placed bruises.
Unfortunately when we ventured down into the crowd for AFI moshing we lost Sean in the mass of bitches that wouldn't let him through. I thought Lilli still had his hand when I pushed through, but alas. D: We did end up finally him again when AFI was on their 3rd to last song. He hitched me up on his back for a while and bounced me around... before hiking me up on his shoulders. HoleySheet. @_@;;; For those of you who don't know Sean is 6'3'' and for someone who is 5'3'' that is as scary as hell. omfg so high.
All in all, I had an awesome time and so did Lilli and Sean. I'm exspecially glad that Sean had a good time since it was his first concert. :D There will be many more epic adventures with the three of us in the near future.
